Kamonlak Sukchai

Thailand, 1994

Kamonlak Sukchai is a Thai photographer known for her collage art.
Her work often explores Southeast Asian folklore and its impact on history, identity, religion, and sexuality.

Her first photo series, RED LOTUS, examines how folklore influences feminism through photography. BLUE FANTASY challenges the concept
of written history and its role in shaping identity and belonging, blending historical accounts with family stories and local myths. Her current project investigates the connection between mythical symbols, human desire, and the meaning of life. Kamonlak enjoys experimenting with collage techniques to inspire audiences to reinterpret old beliefs from fresh perspectives.
